Dr. Thomas Martens was born in 1958. He studied to become a secondary school teacher of biology and theology, earning his doctorate in biology. After completing his studies and teacher training, he worked as an editor at a publishing house in Düsseldorf from 1988 to 2002. In 1990, he was granted power of attorney for this publishing house.

In addition to his work in publishing and later in teaching, Dr. Martens has published numerous didactic titles and topics.

In 2002, he transitioned to a career in teaching, working at several high schools. At the end of his career, he was the headmaster of a high school until 2024.

Photography and digital editing have been important hobbies of Dr. Martens for many years.
